New pictures!

Here are some updated pictures of me and the nursery. I am 33 weeks PG! Less than 7 weeks left! The nursery still in progress but getting much closer. I also put together our stroller today! Now we just need to figure out how the car seat bases go into our cars! I am feeling much better and was able to work every day this week. Chris takes the second part of his medical boards this Wednesday. It will be a 9 hour test. If you think about him on Wednesday, please pray that he has the endurance and attention span to recall all the information floating around in his brain!

Pictured above is a new wall hanging--doesn't it just scream Mindy? You can also see the chandelier hanging! This is all in the corner with her crib. Also you can see the two mirrors we have hung above Daisy's dresser.

This is the other side of the room with the pink lamp and this wonderful sign that Leslie gave me for a shower gift! I LOVE IT!

My belly is definitely getting big! Well, that is all from here. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

Fun Weekend, oh and feeling better!

Hello to all and thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers. I am finally feeling better. Both yesterday and today have been good days. I went to the doctor today and I have put on 6lbs since last Thursday (I had lost 3lbs from the week before) but still 6lbs! That is like a pound a day! Needless to say, I think I am doing better and Daisy is still growing! My belly button has officially started to poke out. I would post a picture, but that might not be too pretty! Everything else at the doctor's visit went well.

A few things to update you on. This weekend was a fun filled weekend. We celebrated Amanda's upcoming wedding with a bridal luncheon and a personal shower/bachelorette party. It was so fun! Both Leslie and Danielle were able to come into town for the events and it was so nice to have them around again. Here are some pictures.

Our table at the Bridal luncheon.

Me and the bride looking particularly photogenic.

The bride and her two PG bridesmaids (notice I cut out the tummies!)

The bachelorette all decked out at her party.
On Sunday my friends threw a garden party themed baby shower for me and Daisy. It was so fun. I got LOTS of very cute and needed things. It is so nice to finally have some things, it makes you feel more prepared. In addition the nursery is really coming together. It is not fully finished, but I will post pictures soon. My in laws found a really perfect hanging for the wall---lets just say it is black, white, hot pink, feather boa, and zebra print all in one fabulous wall hanging!!!!!

This is a picture of me and the hostesses from my shower!

I think that is about all from here. I am glad to be back at work and feeling like my PG self again. 7 weeks and counting until our little girl is here!

How was your day?

Well, for me I spent the day at Baptist hospital receiving IV fluids. I had a doctor's appointment this morning secondary to being sick all week and I was dehydrated, thus they pumped 3L of fluid into me. I have learned that I am a terrible patient! They pumped the first bag of fluid through my arm so fast that I was chilled to the bone (it was cold because it had sugar in it, so it was refrigerated? something like that, one of my nurse friends can clarify). I complained to Chris the whole time, of course! However, one of my nurses (see I had 3 nurses in a 5 hour period, I think because no one on OB likes to take care of a sick person, they like deliveries!) anyway, one of my nurses told me that the IV is worse than the epidural--so hey, I'm going to make it. (not sure how true this is, but I'm going to roll with it). Anyway, I am home now, my stomach is no longer upset, but I am still very lethargic and lightheaded! I'm off to drink more fluids more updates to come after another fun filled weekend.

PS--I would have a picture to post but I wouldn't let Chris take one, he was getting a kick out of me in my hospital gown today. Hey at least we were able to have a few laughs!

Another try!

Okay, so I am not sure what happened to my previous blog pictures. Like I said I was having some difficulty. Here is another try at the pictures. I know it has been a couple of days, but I have been home sick with some GI bug!!!! Being PG and sick is not a good combination. Luckily I have a wonderful husband who has been taking care of me and re-assuring me that Daisy is just fine, even though I haven't been able to eat! Hopefully I am on the way up today. Lets see if this works?

(continued from below)

This is how the nursery is coming together! I love it so much!

Here is a picture of Jess and I. It was so good to see the Firestones, and it makes me sad that they are so far away. Regardless, Henry and Daisy will grow up to love eachother! Doesn't Jess look so cute!
I think that is all the updates I have for now. I will keep you posted.

31 Weeks!

Today is just not my day. I am having some difficulty with blogger so bear with me. The this post and the one above go together. I couldn't get all the pictures to upload to one blog! Here are some pictures of me 31 weeks PG. We just returned home from our childbirth class. It was a good class--now we are so prepared right?

The Firestone's were in town this weekend. First is was Jess' birthday! Happy birthday Jess, with more cake than she ever wanted! We all went out to celebrate on Saturday night, and when I say celebrate I mean we went to eat a Johnny Corinos. On Sunday, Justine (Jess' sister) and I had a baby shower for Jess. It was a great time. Here is a picture of the diaper cake I made for her. I think it turned out cute, thanks to Stacy's help!

I am pretty sure no one knows this but Jess is really talented. Here is a post of the gift she gave Chris, me and Daisy. We found some pictures we wanted online a while back and Jess offered to paint them for us. Let me just tell you, they look exactly like the originals in detail, however, Jess has put her own touch into them, making them two colors and not exactly square, and WE LOVE THEM!!!!!! They look so cute in the nursery. Of course we hung them as soon as we opened them! Here they are on the wall (please see next post for more).

Still a Girl!

WARNING: this is a very long blog, please read when you have some time!

So many things to update you on! Lets work our way backwards. So today we had our 3D ultrasound. Here are the highlights: Daisy is still a Daisy and has not grown any boy parts, which was Chris' greatest concern now that we own a bright pink chair. She is very active, the ultrasound lady said she was chasing her around. My placenta is a nice pillow that Daisy likes to hide her face in, so all the blurry things in the pictures are me, not her! Daisy loves her hands. She was sucking her thumb at one point. My favorite part of the ultrasound was when she opened her mouth stuck out her tongue and licked me!!!!! I am not making this up! She smiles a lot! And I cannot tell who she looks like! Here are some of my favorite pictures:

Okay, all the blurry stuff to the left is me and my placenta.

Please tell me you can see her smile, because Chris cannot see this one. Her hand is close to her mouth, covering her chin, but you can see both of her lips and her smile!!!!

This is a little blurry, but it is a profile of her sucking her thumb! The black line on her head is from the ultrasound lady pushing, nothing to worry about.

Okay this is her chubby look, see her double chin and squished nose! But her chin is really cute!

I have 37 pictures total, so it was hard to pick favorites, but I will show anyone who wants to look at them!

Next topic! This past Sunday we had a family baby shower in Joplin. It was so great! We got a lot of things for the nursery. So I have been working in the nursery ever since we arrived back in OKC. Here are some updated pictures on the nursery and some highlights from the shower.

The night we were back in OKC, at 9:30 I was hanging these curtains. They are sheer pink with pink velvety polka dots! (the picture in the background has to be taken down still and the mess on the floor are the gifts from the shower)

Here is a picture of the other side of the room with the pink lamp and black bookcase I put together! Doesn't it look so cute?

Here is an up close picture of the lamp, it is a lamp/bookshelf thing. The black item is a small CD player/radio that we already had, which fits nicely on the shelf! (So the top of this is the lamp, where the pink shade is!)

This is the bookcase. I couldn't help myself, I had to put what items we had on the bookcase. Of course it may not stay this way!
Here are some pictures from our shower!

My hat says: New mom to be, isn't my mother so funny!

This is the adorable diaper cake my mom made! Isn't she great! I love it! The doll on the top says "now I lay me down to sleep..." in a really cute child's voice!
The rest of the weekend we spent in Joplin. Here are some of the highlights:

Me reading to Lilly (my niece)....she loves her aunt Mindy!
Swimming! Note how pale I am---I just keep reminding myself I am PG and low on iron--thus the pale skin!
Me and my mom at the BBQ we had at her house with homemade ice cream.....notice I am not wearing my own shirt because I am constantly spilling things all over me, thus the blue earrings and pink shirt!
Finally, I leave you with some pictures of our boys. They were all dressed up for the 4th of July.

This picture of Bentley pretty much sums up his week: he went to the vet for his yearly shots, bit Chris while he was holding him down so that the vet could draw blood, he was given benadryl because of his allergic reaction to his shots which made him dopey for the next day, then he went to the groomers---he hates this, and to top it all off it was 4th of July weekend, which stresses him out with all those loud fireworks. So as you can see he has been in what we refer to as slight depression. Hopefully he will have a better week!
Well, I am heading to the doctor tomorrow. I will let you know what she says!

Pink Chair, Pink Chair, doo doo doo doo....

Explanation: The title of this blog is a song that I have sung to Chris ever since we have been married, except I change the words out for instance, pink pants, pink shirt, pink skirt, pink gum.....really anything pink could work. I can sing this for you sometime if you are interested. For those of you who dont know me that well I am very good at creating my own songs!

So the real point of the blog is that Daisy's pink chair has arrived! I cannot tell you how excited I am about this chair. It is so perfect. Here is a little story: We went to Storkland to pick up our chair and there were two young (20ish) guys who put in in the car. Well the box wouldn't fit so we had to unpack the box. When the guys looked at the chair they go, "wow, is this the right color?" and I said yes, they responded, "What do you call this" and I said PINK. They said, "I dont think I have seen anyone order a chair quite like this". It was very funny.

For those of you expecting parents out there let me recommend this type of chair. They are Best Chairs and this is from their Storytime line. They make about 12 storytime chairs in different body styles, some recline, some swivel, I think they all glide (not rock exactly). Anyway....you can find them at most baby stores (just not Babies R Us). So what we did is at Storkland they have all 12 options out on the floor. We went around and sat in all of them and found the one we like. The nice thing is, these chairs are made for women and nurseries so they fit sooooo well! And there are over 150 different fabrics to choose from, some chairs you can even get a coordinating but different piping color! Anyway, you can look them up online and they will direct you to a dealer. They are kind of pricey, but we were looking at buying a lazy boy from Mathis brothers, and this chair was the same price as that!

So here are some pictures! This is me after work, so dont mind the really cute outfit, hairstyle etc.

Do you see how well it coordinates with her bedding?

Notice how my feet touch the floor! (all those short people out there know what i am talking about)

This is me taking a nap! It is so nice that it reclines, you cant see the foot rest, but there is one!

In other news we are heading to Joplin tomorrow after work for a family baby shower this Sunday. We are really excited (I mean chris can hardly contain himself about attending a baby shower---this is why we are calling it a dessert party, not a shower). Then next week we have our 3D ultrasound! I cannot wait! We will get to see Daisy again! And I also have another Dr's appointment. So much going on! Lots of updates to come!
